Zakah & Waqf foundation Gombe in its effort to put smiles in the faces of Muslim brethren in the blessed month of Ramadan, the organisation organised Iftar for different needy groups in the state.
For this year’s Ramadan, the Foundation, under the able leadership of the chairman, Mal Abdullahi Abubakar Lamido, took Iftar to Inmates of Gombe Correctional Centre on Friday, 21st Ramadan, 1443AH which equivalent to Apr 22nd 2022.
The Iftar feast was coordinated under the Foundation’s Directorate of Welfare and Relief, led by Mal Sani Rabiu, the high-powered delegation of the Foundation, led by Mal Abdullahi Abubakar Lamido, was happily received by the welfare officer of the Gombe Correctional Centre who introduced the team to the in-charge of the facility.
While expressing his delight with the visit, the in-charge in his remarks, appreciated the effort of the Foundation for remembering the Inmates during this rewarding period.
He assured the delegation that the meal brought would be given to those intended, stressing that due to the large number of people in the centre, estimated at about one thousand not all of them would get the package donated by the Foundation.
Therefore, he appealed for more of this kind of intervention from all and sundry.
He prayed that Allah will reward the noble effort of the Foundation in the best manner and strengthen her to do more.
In his remarks the Foundation, chairman, who led the delegation, Mal. Abdullahi Abubakar Lamido applauded the officers of the centre for managing the affairs of the inmates on behalf of the general populace.
He added that If not for the good work of the officers in the correctional centre, the society would have been an unpleasant place for everybody.
Lamido said, “As such, the reward for hard work, is therefore, more hard work”.
The chairman encouraged the officers to continue to work with all sense of sincerity and commitment to secure a better place for themselves in the hereafter.
He also prayed that Allah (SWT) will reward them with Jannat al-Firdaus and pledged that more of such support would be considered by the Foundation to the Centre.
