Tree Waqf Planting

ABOUT

Waqf Planting

Since 2019, the Zakah and Waqf Foundation has annually organized a Tree Waqf (Endowment) Campaign during the rainy season. This campaign typically lasts several days and sometimes extends up to a week. During these campaigns, Friday sermons are dedicated to emphasizing the importance of planting trees and the harmful effects of cutting down or destroying them. Each year, selected towns are chosen where hundreds of trees are planted in various locations, including towns, schools, Eid prayer grounds, and other significant sites. As a result of these efforts, two large orchards have been established through waqf donations: the Gawari Orchard and the Kurba Orchard. While both orchards are under development, the Kurba Orchard is more advanced, with a borehole already drilled and installed. The Gawari Orchard is expected to receive similar upgrades as additional donations are secured. It is noteworthy that all the trees planted in these orchards were generously donated by well-meaning members of the community.
