The first edition of the Zakah and Waqf Quarterly Discourse has commenced today, 17th November, 2021 with the theme- Exploring the Philanthropic Sector for Nigeria’s Development: Lessons from the Malaysian Experience.

The session is being chaired by Prof. Rasheed Abdulghaniy, Director Academic Planning, Gombe State University, Gombe. The presenter is Prof. Luqman Zakariyya, the HOD, Religious Department, Federal University of Kashere. The discussant is Dr. Abubakar Sadiq Usman, Department of Business Administration, Gombe State University, Gombe.

The lecture is a very interesting one, touching on Zakah and Waqf issues around the corners of the World and how Zakah and Waqf Foundation and Nigerians in general can emulate from such experience
