The workshop, led by Sheikh Professor Dr Rasheed Abdulganiy, (Director, Academic Planning GSU; Chief Imam, Masjid Ibadirrahman, Gombe) on the topic “What Have You Done for the Religion of Allah?” focused on inspiring the Waqf Ambassadors to reflect on their contributions to Islam. Drawing from examples of the Prophet Muhammad (SAW), his Companions, and contemporary figures, Sheikh Abdulganiy emphasized the importance of leaving a legacy for the religion through actions such as knowledge, charity, and community service.
The Sheikh urged the ambassadors to follow the examples of those who made significant sacrifices for Islam, encouraging them to consider how they can personally contribute to the ummah and create a lasting impact.
In his closing remarks, the Chairman of the Zakah and Waqf Foundation, _Ameer Abdullahi Abubakar Lamido_ expressed appreciation for the workshop and the valuable insights shared. He stressed the importance of cultivating a strong reading culture, particularly among youth, as a means of acquiring knowledge and staying informed. He encouraged the Waqf Ambassadors to embrace continuous learning, read widely, and apply their knowledge to benefit the community and support the foundation’s initiatives.
The session reinforced the idea that each individual has a role to play in contributing to the religion of Allah and leaving a meaningful legacy for future generations.
