On Thursday, 12^th April, 2023 Zakah and Waqf Foundation visited Da’awah orphanage, Tumfure Gombe, Gombe State with the aim of spending time with the children and having _Iftar_ with them. The purpose of the visit was to provide emotional support and show the children that they are not alone in this world.

The Zakah and Waqf Foundation visited the orphanage on a Thursday afternoon. The team consisted of many officials/members of the foundation.

The _Iftar_ was a simple affair, with the children being served Tea, chicken, rice, and vegetables. The team members sat with the children and helped them with their food. During the meal, the team members continued to talk to the children and make them feel comfortable.

Moreover, the visit had a profound impact on the children. The children were overjoyed to have visitors and they were happy to have someone that show interest in their lives. The team members were able to provide emotional support to the children, which was much needed.

The children were thrilled to have guests at their table and enjoyed the food. They were grateful for the company and the attention they received. The team members were able to make the children feel special and loved.

The visit was so colourful as some dignitaries including The Chairman of the Foundation Dr. Abdullahi Abubakar Lamido, Vice Chairman Ahmad Kabir Dr. Umar Garba Dokaji, Dr. Dawud Muhammad, Dr. Abubakar Sani Abdullahi, Engr. Kawuwa, Mal. Sani Rabiu Accountant Saidu Dan Kade, Umar Farukh Ahmad among others attended with all their family members.

Aware Academy officials also attended.

Therefore, the visit was a reminder that there are people in the world who care about them (Orphans) and are willing to help. The Zakah and Waqf Foundation has once again demonstrated its commitment to helping the less fortunate members of society.
