The Zakah and Waqf Foundation organised a 3-Day training on “Essential Applied Digital Skills” to its management members, Waqf Anmbassadors and as well as some selected volunteers with basic ICT knowledge. The Foundation were fortunate to have a renowned certified Google Trainer in person of Dr. Najeeb A. Gambo from Jigawa State Polytechnic and Dr. Sagir Usman from Bayero University Kano who came all the way solely for the purpose of the training. The workshop which started on Friday 3rd September held at the COREN Office of Gombe State. The training has been in the form of a Boot Camp where the participants are undergoing rigorous training on different digital skills for every day work.

The training was mostly online based, highly interactive and very enlightening as  smiling faces were seen all over in the pictures.

During the boothcamp, the Zakah and Waqf Foundation which was nicknamed ZAWFOG by Dr. Najeeb (one of the resource persons) and accepted wholly by members of the Foundation in attendance, found themselves with a new whole experience of digital skills after the training.

The pre-training was online-based where assignments were given to participants for good five days via a goggle class room until the physical meeting which was for 3 long days.

The participants were mainly the Management members (for capacity building and running of the Foundation), some Waqf Ambassadors (who are youth being trained under the Foundation) and a few volunteers who showed deep interest in the training.

At the end of the 3 day rigorous training, the Chairman of ZAWFOG, Malam Abdullahi Abubakar Lamido, in his closing remarks presented a poem to the resource persons in which he mentioned their good qualities and appreciated their coming all the way. Afterwards, he presented to them, on behalf of the Foundation, some gifts in appreciation of their efforts and time.

Some of the participants were also given the chance to show their appreciation. The participants also promised a step-down training to those who were not present and other interested members.

The training was followed by vote of thanks from the Director, Research and Training of the Foundation, Umar Farouq and recitation of the Holy Qur’an and prayers by Goni Dr. Sagir Usman.
