In line with its vision of being a knowledge- driven organization, the Zakah & Waqf Foundation, Gombe, has started a series of training workshops with the aim of acquainting its officials and members with the knowledge and skills required for running an effective foundation. The 1st Training was held Sunday, 16th June, 2019 for the management and members of various committees on Waqf Management. The 1st Module of the Waqf Management Training; Conceptual Foundations and Operational Principles of Waqf was covered in the training from 10.00 am to 3.30 pm.

2nd WAQF MANAGEMENT TRAINING

Background:
The training being the second of its kind was organized to committee members of the foundation as well as others from different institutions that are willing to participate and give their own quarter toward uplifting the foundation. The report at hand details the events and the proceedings of the training workshop on Waqf management that was conducted by the Zakah and Waqf Foundation Gombe. It was delivered by the chairman of the foundation M. Abdullahi A. Lamido. The Training was conducted at the conference centre of Zakah and waqf foundation office in Gombe and was well attended with 20 participants.
Objectives:
The Main objective of the Training on Waqf Management is to get not only the executives of the foundation but committee members to learn the essential thing on Waqf, its conceptual background and operational principle.
Contents:
The following core concepts were covered in the training:
- General Introduction (Why the concept of Waqf)
- Meaning of Waqf
- Waqf Characteristics
- Pillars/ Element of Waqf
- Classification of Waqf
- Aspect of Waqf in History
Training Activities:
The program started at about 9:30am with a briefing about the foundation and its objective, the trainer proceeds with the presentation proper. The trainer explain the main purpose of the training and what the trainees will learn about it, by pointing out major areas to be covered during the day presentation.
The Training covers the first module i.e. the conceptual background and operational principle of Waqf, it was successful, educative and interactive gathering. It triggered very interesting discussion and interest toward implementation of waqf, promoting it knowledge.
Zuhr prayers along with launch were done during the 20 minutes break.
Many questions were ask at the end of the presentation by some participant and was well responded by the trainer.
Refreshment were sourced from the foundations account along with soft drinks which was provided by Hafiz Taliyawa.
Generator, projector and the fuel Used throughout the programs were provided by QS Ahmad Kabir.
The program ended at about 2:30pm.
Conclusion and Recommendations:
- Alhamdulillah The training program was conducted successfully and all the participants took active part of the training.
- The immediate need to obtain our generator, projector, system and all what we need to ease our programs.
- Co participation of every management members in any organized program by the foundation to ease the process.
